TFH in Brisbane presented Vector Shade with an unconventional project brief — providing shade coverage over an active industrial outdoor area where traditional freestanding posts simply weren’t a viable option. The site featured a layout of shipping containers used for storage and operations, and the challenge was to make use of the existing structures to support a practical shade solution without requiring new foundations or permanent steel posts.

Vector Shade designed and installed a series of shade sails mounted directly between the shipping containers, using the containers themselves as the anchor points for the sail tensioning system. The sails are fabricated from Monotec 370 fabric — a high-quality knitted shade cloth known for its UV protection performance and durability in demanding commercial environments. This type of adaptive commercial shade sail installation demonstrates Vector Shade’s ability to find practical, cost-effective shade solutions in non-standard settings.

The images show the dark green shade sails stretched across the gaps between containers, creating shaded zones over pathways, work areas, and equipment storage. The sails follow the angular geometry of the container layout, casting defined areas of shade over the working environment below. The result is a functional, hardwearing shade installation that integrates naturally with the industrial character of the site.

If you have an industrial, commercial, or logistical site that needs shade coverage and you’re working with existing structures, Vector Shade can engineer a solution that fits your constraints. Get in touch with our team to discuss your project.
