Sunnypark Shopping Centre in Sunnybank, Queensland, required a statement shade solution for a key outdoor area within the centre’s precinct. The brief called for a design that would provide substantial weatherproof coverage while creating a visually distinctive focal point for shoppers approaching or passing through the space.
Vector Shade supplied and installed a double conic waterproof structure — two large conical canopy forms positioned as a pair to create a cohesive covered zone. The canopies are fabricated from Ferrari 832 S2 fabric, a high-performance PVC material providing excellent waterproof and UV protection performance. This type of architecturally considered commercial shade structure is engineered for permanent installation in high-traffic retail environments, with the steel supporting framework supplied and installed in coordination with the centre’s wider construction programme.
The aerial image captures the twin conic profiles in full — two sweeping conical forms that rise to defined apex points, creating a bold architectural statement visible from above and across the surrounding precinct. The pale canopy fabric contrasts cleanly with the surrounding car park and building surfaces, making the covered area immediately legible for shoppers. Below the canopies, the space provides a sheltered zone fully protected from Queensland rain and sun.
