Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, Queensland, needed reliable shade cover for its outdoor amphitheatre, a space used for assemblies, performances and everyday student life. VECTOR Shade Structures designed a vibrant, multi-coloured free-formed shade sail solution, supported on braced steel posts, to transform the space into a striking and functional outdoor venue.
The sails are made from Commercial Heavy 430 fabric, backed by a 15-year warranty, chosen for its durability and ability to hold striking colour across large sail spans. The steel posts are finished in a Quadpro paint system with a 10-year warranty, ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements. As a bespoke commercial shade sail design, the layered, angular canopy creates a dynamic, eye-catching roofline while delivering genuine sun protection to students and staff below.
