Shailer Park is a well-loved community reserve maintained by Logan City Council, and its playground needed shade that could stand up to the Queensland sun while adding some colour to the space. VECTOR Shade Structures was engaged to design a free-form shade sail solution, with sweeping yellow canopies suspended from engineered steel posts and footings to arch protectively over the play equipment below.

The canopies are crafted from Monotec 370 knitted shade fabric, backed by a 15-year warranty, offering excellent UV protection and airflow while resisting fade and wear in the outdoor environment. Finished in hot dip galvanised (HDG) steel for long-term corrosion resistance, this commercial shade sail installation was engineered to suit the irregular geometry of the play space without cluttering it with unnecessary posts.

The result is a bright, welcoming space that keeps local families protected from the sun year-round. This project reflects VECTOR’s continued work delivering park shade structures for councils across South East Queensland.
