Neal Shannon Park sits just back from the beach on Beach Road in Surfers Paradise, and the City of Gold Coast wanted shade cover that would suit the relaxed, beachside setting without competing with the skyline views. VECTOR Shade Structures answered with a cluster of shade mesh TULIP structures, their sail-like charcoal canopies fanning out above the park in an elegant, plant-inspired form.
Each TULIP is finished in Monotec 370 shade fabric, engineered for high UV protection and long-term colour retention in tough coastal conditions, while the supporting steelwork is hot dip galvanised and 2 pack painted for lasting corrosion resistance so close to the ocean. Working as a set of commercial umbrellas, the TULIPs create generous pockets of shade across the park while keeping sightlines open and airy.
The finished result gives park visitors a comfortable place to escape the sun just steps from the sand, another example of VECTOR’s work delivering shade structures for councils along the Gold Coast.
