Hetchy Park is a well-used community reserve in Upper Coomera, and the City of Gold Coast engaged VECTOR Shade Structures to deliver a shade solution that could withstand the Queensland sun while making a bold visual statement. The result is a custom engineered inverted frame shade sail, its sweeping blue canopy suspended from slender hot dip galvanised steel columns to arch protectively over the playground below.
The canopy is crafted from Monotec 370 knitted shade fabric, backed by a 15-year warranty, delivering excellent UV protection and airflow while resisting fading, tearing and the coastal conditions common to Gold Coast parks. As a piece of engineered commercial shade sail design, the inverted form maximises coverage over the play area without cluttered internal posts, keeping the space open, safe and enjoyable for local families.
