St Margarets Anglican Girls School in Ascot, Brisbane, is a campus where architectural quality matters. This project required a bespoke shade structure at a key arrival or transition point within the school grounds — a location that demanded something visually distinctive rather than a conventional canopy design.

Vector Shade delivered a Flying Disc structure — a circular, floating canopy form that is one of the most striking designs in the Vector Shade portfolio. Engineered as a bespoke commercial shade structure, the Flying Disc uses Serge Ferrari 502S2 fabric with a 10-year warranty, while the steel components are coated in Quadpro Paint System, also carrying a 10-year warranty. The combination of premium materials and the disc’s elegant, gravity-defying form makes it a genuine architectural statement that reflects the prestige of the school.

The project images show the Flying Disc canopy positioned against the school’s modern multi-storey buildings, with the clean white disc form creating a striking contrast against the glass and brick facades. The circular canopy provides a defined, sheltered zone underneath — ideal for a school entry, gathering point, or informal outdoor area — while adding real visual impact to the precinct.

The Flying Disc is one of Vector Shade’s signature designs for clients who want shade that makes an impression. If you’d like to discuss a custom or architectural shade structure for your school or commercial project, get in touch with our team.
